National Standard Digital TV Signal First Aired to the National from Shenzhen

The national standard digital TV signal was aired for the first time to the nation on the site of Shenzhen Hi-tech Fair on the morning of October 12th, and Shenzhen became the first city in China to implement this national standard formally. From this point on the Shenzhen citizens can receive and watch free HD digital TV with receiving devices of integrative ground digital TV, HD set top box, multimedia TV receiver, on-board receiver and receiver connected to computer.

This time the aired signal from Shenzhen also covers most of the region of Hong Kong. Hong Kong has decided to apply the ground digital TV standard supporting national standard before. By the end of this year, TVB and ATV in Hong Kong will broadcast overall HD and SD programs applying the same national standard technical system.

Though the national standard of ground digital TV transmission began to be implemented from August 1st, the public had been worrying about the development of industrialization due to the immature matching standard and industry chain. In the ceremony of this first broadcasting, Zhang Guanghua, the executive vice president of Legend Silicon Tech, expressed in front of the media with an optimistic tone that up to the present the integrative chip plan has been matured with steady performance across the board, laying a solid foundation for operators to conduct different business operation models.
